RESPONSIBILITIES
Materials Development (~80%):
Lead materials development projects for a new line of lens products (polymer focus).
Evaluate potential materials/chemicals if suitable for the application/goal.
Plan and execute experiments to characterize material properties.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve deliverables on time.
Work with different suppliers and manufacturers for sampling and prototypes.
Product Design and Development (~20%):
Create and design new lens products.
Use color science models in MATLAB to simulate the visual performance.
Provide technical support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Degree: Chemistry/Material Science & Engineering/Chemical Engineering or similar. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
Target Background:
Knowledgeable on the chemistry and materials science of polymers.
Understands the interaction of polymers with light.
With prior experience in material development of polymers.
Other Requirements:
Laboratory Access and Experimentation: Ability to secure lab access for experiments.
At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Self-Motivated
Optional but preferred:
Simulation Software and Coding Proficiency, specifically in MATLAB
High Academic Achievement: GWA exceeding 1.75 or 3.00 depending on the grading system (B+ or above).
